My mother told me that my brother is more like my father. He is also a bit lazy sometimes. He hates helping out in the kitchen if my mother is sick.
He’d rather buy food from outside which she doesn’t like, especially if she is ill. If she asks him to repair something he will take ages to do it. But, at least, he does it after a lapse of time. What he really spends a lot of time on is watching TV. He watches only news channels and political debates.
My mother complains that she can’t understand what he finds so interesting about a bunch of old men squabbling like fisherwomen. She doesn’t care much for TV but she reads a lot. Laziness, she feels, is a disease. She always says that an idle mind is a devil’s workshop and people who have no work to do are very dangerous as they cause trouble for others. To ensure that I don’t become lazy like my brother she encourages me to have many hobbies and sports activities. Lazy people don’t realize that they are wasting their precious life.
As the saying goes, time and tide wait for no man. So let us use our time productively.
